Flutec PP50 is a fully-fluorinated, odourless, colourless liquid.
Flutec PP50 has the following characteristics:-
- Compatibility with most construction materials
- Non flammable
- Excellent chemical and thermal stability
- Practically non-toxic1
Flutec PP50 is used for various applications including as a secondary
fluid in duel-vapour vapour phase soldering machines, as the inerting blanket
for IPA/Perfluorocarbon liquid cleaning machines and as a solvent for Fluoro-greases.
Although Flutec PP50 is considered biologically
and chemically inert, good laboratory practice should be observed
when handling. Flutec PP50 has an indefinite shelf life if properly
stored in its original sealed container.

Note: The toxicity rating used is published by Gleason, M N Gosselin,
R E and Hodge, H C (Clinical Toxicology of Commercial Products, Baltimore
1963). ‘Practically
Non-Toxic1 is the lowest rating of toxicity and relates to
a lethal dose in man of more than 1Kg for a 70kg (150lb) man.
