The high stability of Flutec® fluids means
they can be used as pressure transmitting liquids for use in gauges
(for example to protect the gauge from aggressive fluids) and also
as safe alternatives for mercury in manometers, thermometers and orifice
plate flowmeters. For these applications we offer a Dyed Blue Flutec®
with a specific gravity 1.88 grams per cubic centimeter.
Data Sheet
Flutec Dyed Blue 1.88 is a fully-fluorinated, odourless, blue liquid.
Flutec Dyed Blue 1.88 has the following characteristics:-
- Compatibility with most construction materials
- Non flammability
- Excellent chemical and thermal stability
- Practically non-toxic*
Flutec dyed blue has several applications, such as manometer fluid.
Although Flutec Dyed Blue 1.88 is considered biologically
and chemically inert, good laboratory practice should be observed
when handling. Flutec Dyed Blue 1.88 has an indefinite shelf life
if properly stored in its original sealed container.

* Note: The toxicity rating used is published by Gleason, M N Gosselin,
R E and Hodge, H C (Clinical Toxicology of Commercial Products, Baltimore
1963). 'Practically
Non-Toxic' is the lowest rating of toxicity and relates to
a lethal dose in man of more than 1 kg for a 70 kg (150 lb) man.
